I have a lot of people buy my hackys for the traditional use, but I also have a lot of LARPers who use them for spell effects in place of lame tennis balls. They are ever so much cooler; they make a cool "Schiiing!" sound when they leave your hand. They're lightweight aluminum, so they shouldn't hurt unless you really whip them at someone.
